The images in this gallery are from all of our adventures while cruising on the Turtle, cruising on friend's boats, as well as dive trips, and land lubber excursions. I was first introduced to photography when I got Dad's old Konica 35mm SLR as a kid.
I made the switch to digital pretty early on, and as soon as consumer digital SLRs became affordable I was one of the first to jump aboard. After years of shooting dSLR I recently traded all of my gear for the Canon Powershot G16
, their top of the line compact.
As much as I love what you can do with an SLR, I really wanted something that was easier to carry around for everyday use. I do miss some of my old lenses, especially the ultra wide-angle, and being able to easily get amazing depth of field effects.
But I love having a camera that actually fits in a pocket, and that’s so small, that even in an underwater housing, I can much more easily snorkel with it or take it on a kayak or paddleboard.
