The Boat

The Grouchy Turtle is a 33.5’ Gemini 105M cruising catamaran, built by Performance Cruising in Annapolis, MD. With a 14’ beam, she is just narrow enough to fit in a standard slip, unlike larger cats, although we like staying on the hook as often as possible anyway. The Turtle has a mast height of 45’ and draws 5’ with the centerboards down. With the boards and rudders up the draft is only 18”, allowing the Turtle to explore places that just can’t be reached by many other boats, and even be beached…just not stern up. Trust me on this one!
